Imam Reza Hospital in Mashhad is one of the oldest and largest medical and educational centers in Iran. It was founded in 1934 (1313 SH) and designed by the renowned Iranian architect Karim Taherzadeh Behzad.
Built on a land area of 28,500 square meters, the hospital originally began its activity under the name Shahreza Hospital, providing medical services in internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, maternity, and dentistry.
After the Islamic Revolution, the hospital was renamed to honor Imam Reza (A.S.) and became one of the major teaching and research hospitals of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Today, with over 918 active beds and dozens of specialized departments, Imam Reza Hospital serves as a leading referral center for advanced healthcare in northeastern Iran.
